Lepsoc Africa - Publications
LepSoc Africa has since its inception in 1983, produced a broad range of publications, both informative and more scientific in nature. The Society or its members have also published, or assisted in the publication of, a multitude of books and scientific articles on African Lepidoptera. The publication portfolio at present consists of:
Metamorphosis - a peer reviewed scientific journal, with articles published online on an "open access" basis, and an annually produced printed version.
Afrotropical Butterflies - a digital online encyclopaedia covering over 4500 butterfly and skipper species occurring in the Afrotropical region, updated continuously as new information is published.
Babbel Blues - an electronic magazine published biannually online featuring interesting butterfly and moth stories, accounts of trips to locations all over Africa, and even crosswords and recipes!
African Butterfly News - a newsletter to LepSoc Africa members circulated every two months, containing up-to-date news regarding African butterflies and moths, and the people who follow them.
Practical Guide - an indispensible manual for the more serious lepidopterist, published online and only available to LepSoc Africa members. It describes how to find, collect, preserve specimens, photograph and conduct research into Lepidoptera.
